After an exciting Women’s World Cup, we are looking forward to having our very own Women’s T20 Challenge back in action. With the last game played in November 2020, it’s has been a long wait for the fans to see their favourite domestic and international players back in action in this format!
Format of the games
The inception of this format of T20 games for Women’s cricket in India was done in 2018 after the 2017 Women’s World Cup. In its fourth edition, it promises to be a thriller of a contest.
The three teams; Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity will play a game each with other two teams. The game will be played in a round-robin group format followed by a final. It will feature 16 players – 12 Indian players and 4 International players in each team.
Supernovas would be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, Trailblazers would be led by Smriti Mandhana and Velocity would be led by the debutant captain, Deepti Sharma. The games would be played at the MCA stadium, Pune from 23rd May to 28th May, 2022.
